Steven E. Morrell Sept. 6, 1999
MORRELL, Robert (Sr.) & Clotilde; children: Elsie, Robert
Jr, Ernest, Edward and Richard. Robert, sometimes called Bob by
his contemporary friends, was a WWI veteran who served in France.
He had at least two brothers, and two sisters: James was one
brother; I can't remember the other brother's name; their sisters
were Sarah and Sophie (in some records, Sophia). Robert worked as
a glazier and is said to have installed the original glass work
in Wrigley Mansion. His mother was Ann or Annie; his stepfather
was Lafeyette, nicknamed Fate. One story is that Ann was a
distant cousin of Fate, and her maiden name was also Morrell,
though others in the family say they never heard that story; Fate
was her second husband, ___ Siqueiros was her first husband, and
the father of her children, including Robert. I know that the
Morrell family dates back to about 1870 in Maricopa County, and
records in Yavapai County show Morrells there as early as the
Civil War: I have no information to link the Yavapai Morrells
with those in Maricopa, though this uncommon name wouldn't be
likely to occur in two separate locations in the same frontier
territory at approximately the same time unless there was a
connection: logically the Maricopa Morrells followed opportunity
to the Salt River Valley Community (as the Phoenix settlement was
first known) from the Prescott area, which is an older community.
Allegedly, all of the Morrells in the Phoenix metro area are
related. Any information on any of the Morrells in Arizona --
especially Maricopa County -- would be greatly appreciated.
***UPDATE: I have information for Steven E Morrell regarding Lafayette, Fayette, Fate Morrell. I am his grandaughter.I can be contacted at leepatricial@MSN.com Patricia (Morrell) Lee

TB in those days? Thank you, Oh the Doctor was listed as Ellis.

DENT, WOLFF,
COURTNEY, GREGORY, SWENSON, SWEARINGTON--Artie Mae DENT
was born around 1882 near Old Fort Arbuckle, OK IT to Emory Ann
COURTNEY and Marshall DENT. At some point in time she
either moved outside of Phoenix, AZ or married and they both
moved to Phoenix. I have a couple of letters written
by her from Phoenix 1917-1925. I believe her first husband
was a name similar to SWEARINGTON.
Her first husband died and she remarried to a WOLFF. I
understand that they had a road named after them. They had
a small farm and raised citrus. At some point, Artie Mae
moved to the San Diego CA area, probably to be near her son.
Her niece, Zola GREGORY who married Frank SWENSON also lived near
them for a while. Frank SWENSON was an attorney.
I appreciate any help on this one. Although I have known
Artie Mae lived around Phoenix for a while, I just learned her
husband ? WOLFF's name and am hoping to find out more. I
have lots of information on Artie Mae's siblings and ancestors
that I would love to share, including pictures.

DAUGHERTY/DOUGHERTY--Looking for information on and
descendants of DAUGHERTYS who came from Pendleton County, KY to
Arizona. Known to have lived in Phoenix were: Richard
(b. 8 Jul 1880 - d. 26 Jan 1957) and Mary CRAIG DAUGHERTY and
Luther (b. Unknown - d. 1954) and Cora Belle BRANN DAUGHERTY (b.
1882 - d. 16 May 1960). Richard and Luther were the sons of
Obediah (b. 1845 - d. Abt. 1907) and Mary Frances TAYLOR
DAUGHERTY (b. 14 July 1859 - d. 27 Mar 1950). There is a
possibility that Clay Franklin DAUGHERTY (b. 9 Dec 1901)
moved to that same area. Any information would be
appreciated and I would be willing to share the information that
I have already accumulated. Thank you. Sherida

JAYCOX--I am currently researching HENRY H. JAYCOX who
was born 10/26/1835 ( father David Jaycox, mother Minerva Ann
Foote) in Rushville, NY. At age 10 his family moved
to Waukesha, Wisconsin. He married Catherine Bovee
and they had, from what I know so far, two sons, Lafayette (b.
9/1858 d.1/1859) and Henry Lafayette (b. 5/13/1861 d.
3/16/1947). He may have divorced and remarried (Martha Halley).
Henry was a scout and guide for a pack train to the Pima indians
and led 23 men. In Coconino Nat'l Forest a mountain and
small pond (tank) are named for him. I have 2 death dates,
one is 1884 the other is 1/1901. The 1901 date list his
burial as ",Gila Co, behind Stewart Dam, Under Saguaro
Lake." Saguaro Lake is in Maricopa Co so this is a
little confusing. Another account has him buried in
Globe. I have posted this query Gila and Coconino Co's as
well.
If anyone has additional information or corrections to the above
PLEASE email me.
Thank you very much!
