EBERSOLD, Donald E.
Services for Donald Edward Ebersold, 39, a member of an engineering crew for the Arizona State Highway Department, will be at 11 a.m. tomorrow in A. L. Moore & Sons Mortuary, 333 W. Adams. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Mr. Ebersold, 4643 N. 57th Ave., died Sunday in Memorial Hospital. A native of Phoenix, he had served in the Army medical corps in 1945 and later with the Navy in Korea. He was a member of the American Legion Post 61 of Avondale. Survivors include his wife, Margaret; three daughters, Rebecca, Elaine, and Mrs. Donna GOTHARD; his mother and stepfather, Mr. and Mrs. Louis BAKER, and a sister, Mrs. Loretta LOPEZ, all of Phoenix; another sister, Mrs. Dorothy JULLAN of Sells, Calif., and a granddaughter. Mrs. E. E. Ebersold Funeral Scheduled
Funeral Services for Mrs. Eurah E. (Burley) Eversold, 53 years old, who died Thursday in a local hospital, will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. tomorrow from Memory Chapel of A. L. Moore and Sons Mortuary with the Rev. Chester B. HAMBY officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Memorial Park. A native of Prescott, Ark., Mrs. Eversold came here from Arkansas in 1918. She is survived by her husband, William E.; two daughters, Mrs. Robert HORNBROOK and Mrs. Robert K. Mary Ebersold Private Graveside services for Mary Lee Ebersold, 86, will be at 3 p.m. tomorrow in Greenwood Memorial Park. Mrs. Ebersold died at Good Samaritan Hospital Saturday. A native of North Carolina, Mrs. Ebersold came to Phoenix 25 years ago. She is survived by four sons, I. D. CHANDLER and James CHANDLER, both of Big Springs, Texas; Roy CHANDLER of McKinney, Texas, and W. L. CHANDLER of Medford, Oregon; four daughters, Mrs. Robert Osborne of Phoenix; Mrs. Joe STEVENSON of Pearce; Mrs. Abel CARLOW of Bridgeton, New Jersey; and Mrs. Nick SMITH of Commerce, Texas; 31 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Graveside services for Mrs. Ruby Helen Ebersold, 44, who died Sunday in a Phoenix hospital, will be at noon today in Twin Butte Cemetery, Tempe. Mrs. Ebersold, of 930 E. Jones, moved to Phoenix 35 years ago from her native Kansas. Survivors include her husband, Edward; two sons, Edward Jr. and Robert; five daughters, Bessie Ebersold, Mrs. Linda Russell, Shirley Van Winkle and Mrs. Gloria Urionaguena, all of Phoenix, and Darlene Douglas of California; and a sister, Mrs. Mable Gallager of Phoenix. Delancy Lee Elam, 53, of Rock Spring, a self-employed mechanic, died May 15, 1998. He was born in Man, W.Va. and was a Vietnam War veteran. He also was a member of the Moose Lodge. Survivors include his companion, Lorianne shouse; daughters, Delana and Amanda; mother, Florence; sisters, Mary ALLEN, Freda PERRY, Charlotte COCAT and Sharon JOHNSON; brothers, Roy Jr. and James MONROE; two grandchildren. Robert "Bob" Estock, billing supervisor, joined Tanner Companies in April, 1947, as a timekeeper. He held the following positions: Scaleman, Billing Supervisor and Accounts Receivable. ** He died at the age of 80 in January 2000. The Arizona Republic, January 27, 2000, p.B4.

ESTOCK, Phyllis J.
Phyllis J. Estock, 84, of Scottsdale passed away July 9th after a brief illness. She was born September 4, 1923 in East Grand Forks, Minnesota the daughter of Oscar and Agnes ELLIOTT HOLM. She graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in nursing and worked as a Registered Nurse for the first half of her career. During that time she spent ten years as Director of Nursing at Scottsdale Memorial Hospital. After she left nursing, she received a Masters Degree in Adult Education from Arizona State University and began a second career as an instructor at the University of Phoenix. Preceded in death by her husband Robert in 2000, she is survived by sons Kurt and Paul and by Cindy REINHOLTZ, who was like the daughter she always wanted. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice. No services will be held. Interment will be at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona. The Arizona Republic, July 13, 2008, p.B7.

EVRAETS, Eugene R.
Joining The Tanner Companies in 1972, Eugene EVRAETS became the Claims Manager. He spent six years, following 1963, as a Field Representative for the Salt River Project, while working toward his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration at Arizona State University. In 1969, he joined the Royal Globe Insurance Company as Multiple Lines Claim Manager, and from that position joined the Tanner Companies. In the years since 1972, he has been successively Insurance and Claims Manager, Assistant Vice President and then in 1980, became a Corporate Vice President in charge of the Risk Management Services. He holds membership in Arizona Insurance Claimsmen Association, Arizona Self Insurers' Association and the Risk and Insurance Management Society. Eugene was born July 27, 1941, married, and the father of three children. p.786
OBITUARY:
Gene EVRAETS, 62, passed away on February 11, 2004. He was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin, and moved to Arizona in 1961. Gene married his wife, Donna, in 1965 and together raised three children, Brian (Jana); Shelly (Denny); and Scott. Gene was a local businessman and owner, a graduate of ASU, and a dedicated family man. Preceded in death by his father, Florimond and his brother, Kenneth. Survived by his mother, Emma; wife Donna; three children; and six grandchildren and his ever loyal dog "Buddy". Graveside services were held at Resthaven Cemetary 6290 W. Northern Ave., Glendale, AZ 85301. Memorial donations can be sent to: Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation 1440 W. Washington Blvd, Chicago, IL 60607. Published in the Arizona Republic on 2/14/2004.

EWERT, Robert Alan
Robert Alan Ewert, was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. His parents were the late Henry L. EWERT and Mary EWERT. He received his BA degree in mathematics at the University of Illinois in 1966. Shortly after graduation, he joined the Air Force and was stationed at Offutt Air Force Base in Omaha, Nebraska. Being one of the youngest Captains at 23 years of age, he was the Aircraft Commander of Operation - RC - 135 aircraft in classified, worldwide reconnaissance missions. He married Peggy A. SYNOVEC in 1972 and left the Air Force in 1973 with an Honorable Discharge, moving to Phoenix, Arizona. He attended Arizona State University (ASU) and received his MBA in 1974. He held many jobs and had a wide variety of interests. He worked for the Federal Energy Administration, flew commercially for Saudia Arabian Airlines, operating L-1011 aircraft from 1977-79 while living in Jeddah, Saudia Arabia. He then worked at the Arizona office of Data Administration from 1979-1981. He bought and operated his own commercial hot air balloon company, Pegasus Balloon, from 1982-1996, attending the Abuquerque International Balloon Festival each of those years. In 1984 he went to work in Phoenix for America West Airlines and flew as a Captain on the B737, B757, Airbus A320, and A319 until 2003, when he retired. In 2001 he applied for and was accepted into Law School at ASU. He graduated in December 2004 and passed the Arizona Bar exam in 2005. After graduation he worked for the Arizona Department of Energy and did volunteer work for the Senior Citizen Law Project, writing wills and trusts. Bob passed away Saturday, January 13, 2007, after fighting a very courageous battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife Peggy, daughter Kathrine (Peter) BROWALL, grandson Gustaf, brother Ronald, 3 nieces and 3 nephews. He lived life with a real sense of purpose, joy and a sense of fulfillment. Upon Bob's request, his body was donated to the independent facility, Med Cure, located in Portland, Oregon, an independent donor program for scientific research and medical education.

EYRING, LeRoy
LeRoy Eyring passed away peacefully on November 28, 2005. He was born December 26, 1919 in Pima, Arizona. He followed in his oldest brother Henry Eyring's footsteps, choosing chemistry as a career. He received his B.S. degree from the University of Arizona and served in the Navy from 1944-1946, before earning his Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1949. His first faculty position was at the University of Iowa. He spent 1958-1960 in Europe and Australia, the recipient of National Science Foundation, Guggenheim, and Fulbright-Hays research grants. These years initiated many scientifically productive international contacts and friendships. Upon his return, he was actively recruited by Arizona State University, and came home to his native state in 1961 as Chairman of the Chemistry Department. During his tenure, he established the department as one of the finest in the country and was the driving force behind the development of the Center for Solid State Science. LeRoy was named a Regents' Professor of Chemistry in 1988 and published more than 150 articles and books. He is recognized as a world-wide authority on rare earth oxides. The Ph.D,s and post-docs who studied with him now teach at prestigious institutions in the U.S. and abroad, and work in many major industrial laboratories. In addition to having a distinguished academic career, LeRoy was also a loving husband and father. He is survived by his wife LaReal; his four children: Michelle DOW, Patricia CASTALIA, Cynthia EYRING, and Gregory EYRING; and his four grandchildren: Drew and Ryan Castalia, and Katherine and Benjamin EYRING. A Remembrance Gathering was held at the Desert Botanical Garden's Webster Auditorium. In LeRoy's memory, the family has established the Eyring Scholarship in Chemistry through the ASU Foundation, Arizona State University, Tempe, 85287.
