ARIZONA SILVER BELT

FORMERLY A PRINTER IN THE EMPLOY OF THE SILVER BELT

-BODY FOUND AT CASA LOMA ROOMING HOUSE.

CAUSE OF DEATH NOT YET ASCERTAINED BUT HE HAD BEEN COMPLAINING OF HEART TROUBLE FOR MANY WEEKS.

Robert Creamer, a printer, formerly in the employ of the Daily Silver Belt was found dead this afternoon at about 1:30 o'clock.

The cause of death has not been ascertained, as no inquest has yet been held though friends say he had been complaining of heart trouble for several weeks past.

G. C. Jones, a miner in the employ of the Inspiration company was probably the last person to speak to Creamer before he died.  Jones states that he was talking to Creamer just before he retired last night at the Casa Loma rooming house where both were staying and the Creamer seemed to be in good spirits.

This afternoon when the landlady wondering at his non-appearance, looked through the window of his room she saw Creamer lying fully appareled across the bed.  Investigations were made immediately and it was ascertained that he was no longer living.

He had taken off his shoes and as he reclined on the bed was partly covered by a quilt.

Little is know of Creamer or his family except that he is originally from New York.  He is a member of the printers typographical union in good standing and will be buried under the auspices of that organization.  A meeting of the printers of the district will be held tomorrow to make arrangements for the funeral.

An identification card found in his pocket by Justice of the peace McEachren requested that Mrs. Bessie Edwards of 81 Pleasant St., Boston, Mass., be notified in the event of his death or serious incident She is supposed to be Creamer's sister.

Mass Helen Childress of Rice is spending the week end with Mrs. J. S. Miles.

C. W. Kelley left. Miami this morning for Phoenix, traveling the Union Stage Line.

HINCHCLIFFE FUNERAL—
The funeral of Samuel Hinchcliffe is being held this afternoon from the Miami Undertaking company's parlors. Interment will be made in the Miners' Union cemetery in Globe.

Homer I. Merrieks', recently with the engineering force of the O. D mine in. Globe, was in Miami today visiting friends.

SPARKS IN—
William Sparks one of the ties known old-timers of the district, was in Miami today.
 

A BABY GIRL—
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Mcllory are the proud parents of a fine baby girl which arrived at their home last Wednesday morning early.
 

MISS SANDERS HERE—
Miss .Sanders arrived under care of the stork at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Sanders in Lower Miami last Tuesday night.
 

TO AJO—
Superintendent H. P. Knight of the Kansas City Steel -Corporation and fifteen of his men will leave Miami tomorrow morning for the Ajo district where they will do the construction work on the machine shops there.

Miss Dolly Cavaness of the Gem Confectioner is expecting a friend, Miss Amy Hamilton of Los Angeles, to arrive in Miami tomorrow night. Miss Hamilton will assist in the dispensing department of the Gem Confectionery.

NOTICE, TO WORKMEN
To Whom it May Concern:
Miami Miners Union at its meeting decided to notify the workers through the press that it would be advisable for them to be prepared to support themselves for some time before coming to Miami, Arizona. As is frequently the case in union camps  where there is a large pay roll and high wages, there are several hundred men here now out of work, and as construction work is practically finished it is a difficult matter to secure work. There are men drifting in and out of here of over a hundred a week so we advise men to remain, away.

Montana, has arrived in Miami for a visit .with his Father L. J. Bneboe and his sister, Mrs. Kirk Gunby.  He will probably be here for some time.  Bisbee.

The Western Union Telegraph Company's Miami office has the following message from San Taquin, Utah to Mrs. Rawl J. Nedsen, signed Edvie Flanders: "Come quickly. Mother is dead. Answer if you can come."

ARTHUR COLE VISITS GLOBE
Arthur Cole is visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Cole of Globe. Mr. Cole who was formerly superintendent of the smelting works of the Cananea Consolidated company is now connected with the Stone Mining company, of Chicago, as superintendent of their mining property on Bill Williams river, situated in Yavapai and Mohave counties, Arizona, forty miles west of Congress Junction

Harry Smith of the E.A. Eisenhower company returned last evening from an extended trip through the east and middle west.

A FORMER GLOBE MAN DROWNED

While crossing the Verde river a Clarkdale butcher and meat-cutter known only as Louie, met his death by drowning this week when his wagon and two burros was overturned by the swift current and carried down the stream. The deceased was about 55 years old and had no relatives so far as is known. He formerly lived in Phoenix and Globe.

F. W. Anderson, for many years resident of Artesia, of Graham county is visiting his sister Mrs. George Reed of Globe. Mr. Andrews has sold Iris ranch at Artesia and may decide to locate here.

BACK FROM MEXICO
A. L. (Doc) Price, for many years with the Arizona Eastern railroad has returned to Globe after s-pending several months in Old Mexico.

WILL RETURN MONDAY
J. N. Robinson and W. J. Young are expected to return Monday from Amarillo, Texas where they have been buying cattle for the Bar F. Ranch.

W. L. Baker left this morning for the Tonto district where he will inspect some mining property in which he is interested.

BACK FROM PHOENIX—
Dick Latham, Harry Mallard, Theodore Phillips -and A. P. Mitchell returned to Miami this morning after an all night ride from Phoenix. They left the Capital City at. 12:00 o'clock.

HURT AT BISBEE
A telegram has been received from, Bisbee, Arizona announcing that John Orowell, a well known member of, the Miami Moose Lodge has been injured at that city.

MRS. SWEENEY, SR., DIES—
W. G. Sweeney returned last night from Baxter, Kansas, where he went two weeks ago in answer to a message informing him that his mother, Mrs. Ed Sweeney, was dying at her home in that town. Mr. Sweeney arrived at the home of his parents Feb. 27 and on Feb. 29 his mother passed away. The lady had been in declining health during the past year.

HARRY WILLIAMS BETTER—
Harry Williams who is at the Miami-Inspiration hospital is improving.

MAKES ADDITION—
J. R. Williams of the Williams Shoe and Harness snap is having a new addition added to his home on Adonis avenue. The work is being done by Joe Commack.

HARDY MOVES—
Dr. Hardy is moving today from his old residence to the new home he has had erected on Buena Vista addition.

PISTOL SHOTS—
Five pistol shots in the main part of town last evening caused a rush of the representatives of law and order to what was believed to be the spot. Anticipations of lively trouble were disappointed, when it was found that all the racket was caused by the explosions of Fitzpatrick's new Stutz.

Funeral Services for George R. Taylor Held

Funeral Service for the late George R. Taylor well known resident of Miami, were held yesterday afternoon at 1 p.m. from the Community church, with the Mrs. Henry McKenzie officiating.

Mr. Taylor was killed last Saturday night when his car plunged over an embankment on the Payson Highway.

Funeral Services were under the direction of the Masonic Lodge.  Burial was in the Masonic plot in Pinal Cemetery.

Members of the Masonic, Eastern Star, DeMolays and the Odd Fellows; Judges attended the services in a _____.

The pallbearers were: E.R. McEarfaren, James Sullivan, L.D. Polhemns, C.W.. Van Holk, P.A. ____ and Cleve Ramey.

Funeral arrangements were in charge of the Miles Mortuary.

(Note on this article, the ability to read this was very hard, I'm guessing on all the names except Sullivan, James)

CLAYPOOL YOUTH SHOT WITH RIFLE

Jim Hudson, 14 year old son of C. E. Hudson, of Claypool was shot with a .22 rifle shortly after noon today.  The bullet centered over the left eye, but the wound is not considered serious.  He was rushed to the Miami Inspiration hospital for treatment.

The sheriff's office had no version of the shooting at the time of going to press.

Home from Coast

Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin McNelly and daughter, Miss Frances McNelly, returned last evening from San Francisco, where Mrs. McNelly and her daughter, have been for the summer.  Mr. McNelly went to San Francisco to bring his family home.  Miss McNelly who was Kindergarten teacher in the Buena Vista schoo, will return to Stanford University in about a month to study for her master's degree.

Mrs. George Reynolds and her house guests Mr. and Mrs. Fred Forslaw (??), ____ed to Pine on Saturday to remain over the holidays at Mrs. Reynolds's Summer home.

Frank Conner returned last evening from a short visit in Stafford.

TEACHER RETURNS

Miss Mary Wheelock, music supervisor of the Lower Min_al schools, returned Friday from her home in Phoenix, wher eshe has been for the summer, Miss Wheelock will reside in Globe this winter.

MISS PARISH RETURNING

Miss Barbara Parish who has been spending the summer in Hollywood with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Parish will return to Miami Monday and will make her home for ___ winter with Mrs. and Mrs. Harry Seeley on Buena Vista Terrance.  Miss Parish is a member of the Bullion Plaza School.

TO MESA

Mr. and Mrs. I. S. Lawson and Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Kugler will motor to Mesa this evening to spend the weekend as the guests of Mr. and Mrs. A .D. Long.

RETURN FROM CALIFORNIA

Attorney and Mrs. Frederick A. Shaffer of Globe, who have been visiting in California will return to Globe tomorrow the occasion being the sixth anniversary of her birthday.  The_ baskets of candy were presented each guest.  ____ were played and prizes awarded to the winner at the _____lon of which Evelyns mother, Mrs. Hilda Westerland and her grandmother Mrs. Jessie S__mons assisted by Miss Catherine Brown and Miss Vernette Cole served a ______ course.  A large birthday cake added greatly to the joy of the occasion.  Those present were Ethel Lawrence, Betty Jean Quho__, Margaret Eldson, Nelmoh Delman, Sylvia Jane Collins, Loraine Renowden, Florence Corrirenn, Northa Williams, Ruth Farmer, Ida May Byrne, Dorcus Black, Josephine McGoey, Vernice cole, Francis Brown, Eddie Corriveau, Roland Corriveau, Patsy Rose, Bernhard Black, George Cole, Gene McMurray, Bernard Welsch, Arthur Welch, Kenneth Hodson, and Bobby Simmons.

MARGARITO ROCHA

Margarito Rocha, 49 passed away at his home at 921 Sullivan Street late last night, following a prolonged illness.  Funeral services will be held from Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament church tomorrow afternoon at 5 o’clock with Miles Mortuary in charge.  The deceased is survived by the widow and two sons.  He was a resident of Miami for a number of years.

Henrietta Cardwell, 70, colored died at her home on North Euclid avenue yesterday evening following a long illness.  The deceased was born in Galveston, Tex., where she spent the first 21 years of her life.  From there she came to Glove where she thus remained since that time.  She is survived by a sister, Amerin Scott, and a niece, Bessie Allen.  The latter is on her way here from Newark, NJ.  Mrs. Cardwell was a member of the Colored Odd Fellows lodge in Globe; the Household of Thurh, Eastern Star organization, and the Knights of Phidias, Corals of Calcite.  The body is now at the Jones Funeral Home awaiting the arrival of the niece from New Jersey.  Funeral services will be held under the hospices of the Household of Ruth.

Mrs. Rachel Whitaker, 56, a resident of Globe for the last 19 years, died at her home yesterday afternoon on Hackney Avenue following a lingering illness.  The deceased was born at Uvalde, Texas.  She came to Globe in 1911.  Surviving, besides the husband Henry, are three daughters, Mrs. Josephine Traylor and Mrs. Gussie Lacey of Globe; Mrs. Alma Clark of Oklahoma City, Okla., two sisters, Mrs. Josephine Rhoads of Lower Miami and Mrs. F. A. Dennis of Central Heights; a brother Archie Cox of Paxton Springs, NM.  The body now lies in the Jones Funeral Home at Globe awaiting the decision of relatives.  Services will be under the auspices of the Church of Latter Day Saints.  Services for Mrs. Whittaker will be held from the Jones Funeral Home at Globe tomorrow afternoon at 4:15 o’clock.  Bishop B. Franklin Birtcher of the Church of the Latter Day Saints will be in charge of the ceremonies.  Burial will be in the Globe Cemetery.

Arrested in Miami

Stella Duncan, transient hitchhiker was arrested in Miami last night by Deputy Sheriff Arllmar Bright and lodged in the county jail on a charge of drunk and disorderly conduct.  She is scheduled to appear before Justice HP Williams today.
